Sisters or twins ?

There’s a well know saying in the makeup world – “Our eyebrows are SISTERS – not TWINS”

It’s really not possible for one brow to be an exact mirror image of the other, just like no face can be truly symmetrical. Having said that, don’t trust your own eye too much ! Many clients will look in the mirror and believe that something’s not in line or something else doesn’t look right, only to find that when they get to my studio a correctly taken photograph reveals to them what the outside world sees, and often it’s much more flattering and easy to adjust !

I give my clients beautiful eyebrows every day of the week, and I love doing it ! When I’ve pencilled in the outline, which can look a little bold due to the nature of the pencil, I start the detailed process of creation of individual hair strokes to merge with the naturally occurring eyebrow hairs. Initially the strokes, or the powdered effect, can look prominent but within a short time the skin settles and a seemless match with natural hair is achieved.

Eyebrow trends change. Just like any other fashion. Good therapists, however, don’t follow fashion, they’ll want to follow your facial and brow contours in order to show off your features to maximum effect. There are all sorts of other things available to change your look according to how you feel on the day, but the right brow shape will give you that perfect foundation from which to show-case your natural beauty in any way you want.

As always, communication with the therapist is essential. If my customers want a certain shape or colour, in the end I will always go with what they want, although if I think they may benefit from new ideas I tell them and explain why. I never rush them. Sometimes they agree with me, other times they prefer to go with their normal look. With something as important to us girls as our looks, ultimately I always remember that “the customer is always right”.

Your going to have your eye-brows for a long time, and they’re going to cost you some of your hard-earned money, so it’s important that you have the time and space you need to get the look right. If you feel pressurised or rushed in any way by your therapist, then there’s something wrong !

One of things that makes me different is that I don’t rush, and I don’t put my clients under any pressure. That starts right from the initial consultation, right through to follow up appointments. I have my own home studio, so I have complete control of my environment and never need to rush home as I’m there already !
